Mixed-use projects are an excellent way to capitalize on good sites and to extract maximum value from a piece of land. By utilizing vertical space, shopping centers can exist on the ground plane, creating the public threshold and the primary gateway to a multitude of vertical uses such as offices, residences, hotels, etc. In any mixed-use project, the integrity of the retail is critical because it is the dominant human scale experience.
